These 1KW thruster units provide a low maintenance, high power propulsion unit for use on underwater vehicles to a depth of 1000 metres. The propeller is directly driven at up to 3000 rpm by a 1000 watt output, brushless DC motor that is located together with its electronic controller inside an oil filled and pressure compensated stainless steel housing.

An 8 pin wet mateable underwater connector at the end of a 1 meter long penetrator cable allows installation or removal of the thruster even in adverse weather conditions. All maintenance, including shaft seal changes, can be carried out without disturbing either end cap seal.
